There's a great illusion in the developed world

Those on top fear of being dragged down

while those below fear of being destroyed.

I am led to think that those below have the greater right to fear, however intuition tells me that both have their own equal reasons to fear. The ones on top, having enjoyed luxury to the point of being psychologically dependent on it, fear of losing their luxuries as much as how Freud's baby would fear the absence of the mother's nipple. The ones below fear for their every day existence. Of course they have the greater right to fear. The ones on top only fear the loss of luxuries whereas the ones below fear the loss of life. The degree of loss by those below as compared to the degree of loss by those above is much larger. However, their reasons to fear are equal: both fear loss of their current position.

The only way to counter these fears, is to allow those below to be pulled up by those on top. When that happens, the Marxist progression would be complete. Not saying that I believe in Marxism. I personally believe that a Marxist society is not possible in this day and age, not even through global communism, for the simple reason that people's mindsets are not fluid enough to allow a classless society.

In today's society, those on top are continually pushing down those on the same level, and those below have great difficulties going up. This is because the top dogs aren't caring about the underdogs, they do not view them on an equal level, and they are too self-serving. All they think about is "I must be better than X, X must be worse than me. I must be the best as compared to everyone else." In other words, the competitive spirit kills all. Comparison is the killing of self as well as others. I would suggest appreciation. Appreciation is the building of self and others. If everyone appreciates each other, humanity can only grow for the better.

Once the whole of humanity appreciates each other and live in accordance to God's values, there will be no fear. Everyone will love each other, and perfect love casts out all fear.

The great illusion in the develop world is a fear to lose something that isn't even important, that is material wealth and social position, and the audacious courage to not fear losing the things that are important, that is spiritual wealth and divine position.
